What is it with women's addiction to drama?

Growing up with an older sister and no brothers! So needless to say we created our own drama! My sister and I were never physical, but man we could tear each other down with a few choice words!

As the little sister it was my job to make most of the drama happening.  If I knew she didnt want me around I made sure to be an extra pain in the butt! She had a boyfriend, I became the annoying little sister.

My sister and I remember several times where we were in the car and being mouthy to each otheer, and out of no where mom would pull the car over on the side of the road and tell us to "get out and have a knock down drag out." Shock and amazed that our good ol' Mom would actually encourage us to basically beat the hell out of each other! We never once got out of the car and the bickering stopped there.  I have been thinking about doing this with my kids, but what if since I have a boy and one day might have another boy... What if they do get out an beat the hell out each other? Then what do I do! Girls get shocked when told to do this, but guys they take advantage of it!

I only remember one time we were on our way to church and she said something I didn't like. So I slapped her across the face. She made me get out and left me! Then because I wasn't at church that morning I got in even more trouble! The first and last time I ever remember hitting her!

We have grown up alot since those days! A lot less drama, now!  So were are we getting the drama that we thrive on! So you ask what in the world brought her to talk about womens obsession to create or feed of others drama?  One word SOAPS!  Why are this low budget soaps still on air? Its because women feed off of them. Growing up, in the summers my sister and I use to hope our parents wouldn't take a early lunch from work so we could watch Days of Our Lives! I dunno if we weren't aloud to watch them or we just felt guilt for watching it? But It felt so good doing it! While I was pregnant and on bed rest it was the OC.  My newest is One Tree Hill! Yes, after 7 seasons of it am just now finding out about it!  But there are soooo many out their Grey's, Desperate House Wives, Nip/Tuck, and the low budget cable soaps that have been running for 20 or 30 years!

Soaps know what sales! Think about it as little girls we are told fairy tales about prince charming, love, heartache, jealousy, backstabing, lieing, and cheating.  At age three we are obsessed with the ideal of these things! As we get older the stories get even more twisted and hurtful, but we still wish for that happy ending!
